Gadgets
In the future, many people think that we will have funky cars and robots galore. Engineers that design cars are developing many new things. There are some
pretty cool things that will soon be available
for the general public. Computerized Steering Over 90% of road accidents are the drivers fault. That percent could go down a lot. Soon, there will be computers that can drive the car wherever programmed. A computer driver would not get drunk, ignore red lights, or speed. The computer will also not get tired.
Crash Sensors There are new sensors on cars that look like a hood ornament, but they act like a stop sign when a car is about ready to crash. This new gadget is the key that will help the world have less crashes. The sensors will act like brakes when another car is too close. Safer Seatbelts Move over old fibers, here comes the new seatbelt. This seatbelt is called Securus. It is a synthetic fiber. This is a better way to protect yourself and others. This new fiber is more reliable when it comes to the protection that you get from a seatbelt. Parking Made Easy There is a new car from Volkswagen that could make parking a whole lot easier. There would be a computer that parks the car all by itself. People can stand by and watch. Say good-bye to parallel parking! New Airbags......for Kids Too! The airbags of the future will be improved by having sensors to tell the size of the person sitting there. This will add comfort and adjust the size of the air-bag for improved safety. The micro-sensors also have moving parts that will be able to improve the crash safety of the car by preventing delayed or accidental release of the airbags. A Better Car Alarm There is a micro-sensor that could lead to revolutionary car alarms that (unlike today's models that perpetually cry wolf) could distinguish between a burglar breaking in and a passer-by bumping into the fender. An Adjustable Brake-pedal There is a new brake-pedal that can be adjusted to a person's height. This will allow the driver to sit more comfortably while driving.
